Latest News From Metaphor

The last two months has been a busy period for Metaphor Events with Eclipse Ski Brighton Beach Sea Swim, Brighton Trailblazer and Eclipse Ski Brighton Beach Aquathlon all taking place.

The Eclipse Ski Brighton Beach Sea Swim was part of the hugely successful Paddle Round the Pier beach festival, which once again established itself as Europe’s biggest free beach festival. The swim was one of the opening events taking place on Saturday morning at 9am in near perfect conditions with bright sunshine and flat seas. The first male home was James Hayward and the first female finisher was Holly Hamilton. See more photos here

Two weeks later the Brighton Trailblazer took place on the South Downs in what is one of the most scenic running events anywhere. With views over the English Channel to the south and Lewes to the north runners always had something to take their mind off the impending climb on "The Snake" that finishes off the Trailblazer. The Trailblazer was won by Tim Elsey and Aimee Billington in 34.59 and 42.01 respectively. The post race brownies and muffins made it a more than rewarding day for all that entered.

Lastly there was the Eclipse Ski Brighton Beach Aquathlon on Sunday 1 August. This unique 800m swim - 5km run - 400m swim format utilises the Brighton and Hove promenade area to its fullest and gives those that consider swimming their strongest suite the chance to compete on an even level that may not get in everyday triathlons. Holly Hamilton won her second event of the summer in 47.04 whilst the men were led home by George Beecher in 40.23. See more photos here
